The Site, 1994–1996
Released in fullTue 14 Apr 2026On Tuesday 14 April 2026 the seal on the proceedings of a board of inquiry, convened at the Site in April 1996, came to an end.
The proceedings themselves are being released as audio, in the order they were recorded, under catalogue numbers beginning at 041.
This release is everything else. It is the Site’s ordinary paperwork, gathered by the board in the first days of its inquiry and sealed with its proceedings: a newsletter, a handbook, a telephone directory, the noticeboard from the warm corridor, taken down with its pins still in it, and a survey of what the rooms sounded like when people were in them.
None of it was selected. Nothing in it is dated after the evening of Tuesday 2 April 1996. It is released in full, because it is complete.
Names of staff have not been withheld. The record is all there is of them afterwards. Places beyond the perimeter fence have been withheld.

The proceedings
The board of inquiry’s own audio is released separately, one log at a time, as it is prepared. Each log is played in order. The archivist speaks only where the tape cannot.
