Reading room rules

The Records Release Board publishes records whose seal has ended. It does not select them, summarise them or explain them.

It releases each record in full, as it was kept, and it is required to say when a record is complete. Each record in this release is complete.

Rules

1. The reading room is open at all hours.
2. Records may be read and copied for private study. They may not be altered.
3. Recording devices are not permitted in the reading room, except for form AC/7, by permission of the Board.
4. Readers are counted in and counted out.
5. Please do not speak in the reading room.
6. If the room becomes quieter than it was, tell an attendant.
7. The Board does not answer questions about the proceedings.

This release

Release 2026/1 contains the ordinary records of the Site from September 1994 to Tuesday 2 April 1996, as gathered by a board of inquiry in April 1996 and sealed with its proceedings for thirty years. Nothing later is included. The proceedings themselves are released as audio, one log at a time.

Names of staff have not been withheld. Places beyond the perimeter fence have been withheld.
